Travel Thursday | Holiday Villa | Palma de Mallorca

Cala_Marmacen_residence-1

I am still in a holiday mode so this large holiday-inspiring dream home is breathtaking sea views. Located in Puerto de Andratx, Palma de Mallorca, Spain, the villa is a perfect romantic retreat and a good example of how nature can become one with every interior. Even though the most spectacular feature of the villa is its generously-sized, poolside terrace, as one steps inside, more design surprised are revealed.

Travel Thursday | Piece Of Paradise | Velassaru Maldives

Maldives has been synonym with luxurious natural retreats for a while now. Provoking travelers to indulge in this combination of pure luxury and breathtaking beach side panoramas, Velassaru Maldives is located at the fine line between the sky and the ocean, in the paradise we call the Maldives. This expressive island hotel holds details inspired by local architecture, while the finishes are luxurious and invite to a world of indulgence. If there is a place where memories of an almost impossible beauty become the foundation for inspiration, then this place is perfectly defined by its motto: “Live in your world. Play in ours.

Seven different villa types overlooking powdery white beaches and the infinite-looking ocean are available, showing that even paradise can be rented. Teak and stone meet under high vaulted thatch ceilings and extend towards the water in a unique embrace. Restaurants and bars, alongside private dining experiences, as well as an inviting spa and yoga pavilion care for your body and mind. Velassaru is definitely one of the most inviting places for a paradise-like experience.

Travel Thursday | Soneva Kiri, Thailand

I can’t stop daydreaming about Soneva Kiri, a peaceful retreat on Koh Kood – one of Thailand’s largest yet most uninhabited islands. Set amidst a lush tropical rain forest, the 102 acre, eco-friendly and zero emission resort boasts 29 luxurious villas and private residences. Honestly, this place takes rest and relaxation to another level.

Travel Thursday | Anantara Kihavah Villas

In a perfect world, I would like to spend the rest of my week (or life) at Anantara Kihavah Villas, sipping cocktails on soft white beaches and taking dips into the crystal clear waters of the Maldives. If only we had magical powers that allowed us to simply blink and be transported to any destination of our choosing, don’t you agree?

Travel Thursday | Áman Resorts, Utah

Can we discuss how amazing this hotel from Áman Resorts in Utah is?!?  Amangiri (meaning ‘peaceful mountain’) is located in the Four Corners, where the states of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona meet.  I love how architecturally, the resort blends into the dramatic and raw landscape and is so seemingly minuscule compared to its surrounding deep canyons and towering plateaus.  The resort is tucked into a protected valley with sweeping views towards the Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument. Heaven.

The construction of houses costing U.S. $2.8Mil. The amazing engineering and precarious position, attached to a sheer cliff drop, is belied by the serenity and stability of the house. Travel Thursday | Alila Villas Soori

ARCHITECTURE | TRAVEL

Project: Alila Villas Soori | Location: Bukit Peninsula, Bali| Architect: Woha Building completion: 2012

I blogged before about its sister Alila Villas Uluwatu

If you, too, want to give your weary body and mind a complete vacation, head to Southeast Asia where they really know how to do luxury relaxation well. Or at least sit back, relax and imagine you are there while reading this post.

Architecturally an inspired expression of a seamless blend of contemporary Asian design and the richness of the landscape, the resort, and each of its pool villas, enjoys uninhibited views of the deep azure of the Indian Ocean or the equally as enchanting green of the surrounding rice fields, and no compromises in privacy are made.

Minimalist villas – ranging in size from one to 10 bedrooms – each have their own pool and courtyard overlooking the cerulean Indian Ocean. The natural setting between verdant rice paddies and shimmering black-sand beach has been enhanced by lush gardens and reflective ponds. Add a slick spa, decadent dining options and service from personal hosts and you’re in pamper paradise.

INTERIOR | ARCHITECTURE | TRAVEL

Project: Villa Ixos| Architects: Bruno Erpicum  | Location: Ibiza, Spain | Compleated: 2011

IXOS located on the west coast of Ibiza is a house where the architecture is not useless, but fits perfectly into the landscape. An interior design that gives pride to the greatest names in design and contemporary art, this is the promise of this villa.

The stony path,  full of ruts, is not easy to reach this little corner of paradise. But when the gray wooden gate slides on the rails, we forget totally the inconvenience. The transparency of large windows, the grey wood of the large front door, the sound of the waterfall along the rear façade awaken every senses.

With seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, this luxury villa offers more than enough room for you and about a dozen of your closest friends. If a pool, Jacuzzi, solarium, wine cave(!), and fitness room don’t keep you busy, then the beach is less than five minutes away by car. If you’d rather stay inside, the interior of the house is decorated with modern art and high-end design elements with beautiful landscape gardens and entertaining areas.

Travel Thursday | Casas del Sol Villas | Thailand

When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money.  Then take half the clothes and twice the money.  ~Susan Heller

TRAVEL | ARCHITECTURE

ProjectCasas del Sol Villas | Architects:  Saenz de Santamaria Designs| Location: Koh Tao, Thailand

The “Casas del Sol” is a group is small individual villas with beautiful interior design, big outdoor spaces with private terraces and swimming pool. Besides that each villa offers an incredible view over the bay for relaxation and piece of mind. “A tropical beach villa should celebrate sea, sun and stars as well as shore-side chic. But finding the perfect beach villa in the tropics can be a difficult feat, because the dream of whispering waves and palm-shaded luxury becomes reality in only the most seldom of lucky places.”

I wish I was daydreaming, relaxing away in one of these right now…. back to reality I am off to work! Enjoy your day everyone! S. x
