Friday. Im in Love
Hey my beloved readers! It’s weekend again! Finally some quality time to reboot and recharge our inner battery. And since the days are getting colder and gloomier, I am planning on spending lots of time indoors, snuggling up in my bed with a good book, a sublime scented candle glowing, and serenity all around. Doesn’t that sound simply perfect? Have a great weekend!
interiors: small apartment solutions, sydney
When it comes to small apartments, functionality and comfort are the two main “issues” that need to be taken into account. The greatest challenge as a designer is to create (or at least give the feeling that there is) more space then it actually…is. The Australian Minosa Design Studio designed this small apartment of a family of five in Bondi Beach, Sydney, trying to solve the problem of space. The studio is specialized in stand-alone design concepts for contemporary bathrooms and kitchens, so the client’s request to adjust the small space and create a larger one, by adding an extra floor and creating a fun, functional and “stiffed” with appliances kitchen was pretty interesting and challenging.
The heart of the kitchen consists of a ten-seater table, luscious (and with an expendable part). It incorporated plenty of shelves that can be easily hidden. This was a very interesting approach towards the designers’ solution which I absolutly love. They chose to simply “hide” parts of the kitchen, under white and luscious sliding doors, in order to create more space.

Things we love: Kids rooms
A child’s room can be one of the most challenging rooms in the house to redo. However, with some creativity, anyone can decorate their kid’s room. Pick one item or color that will be the main focus of the room and make your decorating plans around that. Here are some of our favorite kid’s room, check out more on my pinterest board here.
architecture: st. leon house by saota
St Leon 10 is another dream home designed by Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects (SAOTA), a Cape Town-based architectural practice. Completed in 2006, this two-storey contemporary residence was designed for a family with two young children who wanted a house which simultaneously created spaces for casual intimate family occasions or large get-togethers. The contemporary South African property is organised in a linear manner with all rooms facing the sea. The rear of the property offers privacy with no openings other than the glazed double volume entrance space. This space is screened with a steel framed timber screen and access off the street is through heavy timber gates.
architecture: brighton escape, australia
Australian interior design practice G.A.B.B.E have completed the renovation of the Brighton Escape project which has captured my eye today. The expansive, serene and textured luxury family home with beautiful sunken living room. According to the interior designers: “A contemporary design with resounding vibrations to sooth the urban family. “Like a seashell carrying the sound of the ocean, or a mirror reflecting sunlight, this space was specifically fashioned to capture and exude the warmth of the environment which surrounds it.
