My baby shower is fast aproaching, in fact this weekend is the big day. It’s Friday. I’m in Love.

Happy Friday, friends! Last couple weekends I have been able to relax, pamper myself and finish couple things of my list before the little bub arrives. This weekend is going to be pretty calm too. I picked up a new planner yesterday and quickly started filling it up last night with important dates for work and blog scheduling. It’s amazing what a little thing like a new planner can do for your mood! Does that happen to you, too?

When you have a small apartment, you feel that the small size is problematic and complicated enough and you try to avoid overthinking things when decorating the place. Sometimes a great way of maintaining a clean and simple décor in a small apartment is to keep the color palette as restraint as possible.

A black and white combo is a classical, popular and always great choice. When you only reduce the décor to only two colors everything becomes simpler and clearer. It’s easier to imagine how everything will look like in advance when you only have two colors to worry about. When those colors are black and white, the décor and the atmosphere become even more classical and chic. This apartment, in spite of being small, has an airy and discreet look. This classical and always beautiful combination of colors was used to create interesting contrasts but also to maintain a sense of simplicity.

Today I was pondering what it would be like if I looked for a new, bigger house instead of an apartment. What would I pay attention to? What would be a ‘must’ in my future home and what a ‘nice to have’? My view wandered through my current home and got stuck while looking at my floor. A nice, a bit worn, laminate floor. And I knew immediately: An absolute and not negotiable prerequisite is a wooden floor. And just then I decided to dedicate today’s ‘things we love’ to wooden floors!
